Pete Carril

Pete Carril is an Advisor at VisCap. Previously, Pete was a Partner of Palatine with a particular emphasis on fixed income investments.  From 2004 to early 2007, Pete was a co-founder of Nexstar Capital Partners LLC, an emerging markets fixed income firm. He has over 23 years of credit trading experience, with 13 years of working in emerging market credit trading. Prior to joining Nexstar, he was Managing Director and head of global trading for emerging market bonds and credit default swaps at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. 

He held similar positions at Bankers Trust and began his emerging markets career at Lehman Brothers. In addition, Pete has authored several articles regarding the relative value characteristics of emerging markets corporate bonds and has contributed the emerging markets chapters to fixed income works by Frank J. Fabozzi. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Emerging Markets Traders Association (EMTA) in February 2004. Pete graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Economics (1981).
